Charles Drew was born in June 3rd 1904. He died in April 1st 1950, he was born in Washington DC, and died in Burlington, North Carolina.
He was a doctor / surgeon in banked blood. He went to McGill University, Amherst College, and Columbia University, to do his PhD on blood storage. After he became doctor and a college instructor he went to Columbia University.
He completed his thesis titled Banked Blood that invented the method of storing plasma, allowing it to be dehydrated and stored for later use. It was the first time Columbia awarded an African American.
